This film has been described by students as “very funny and I will see it again," “engaging,” “emotional,” “hilarious, great message,” "9 out of 10!” “want sequel”.
In a marketing report by NPD Inc, a widely known research firm in the entertainment industry, The Strip was compared with Employee of the Month, Waiting, Clerks 2, GardenState and Little Miss Sunshine.
How do I register to Participate in the project?-3 simple steps
1. Select a 3 to 5 member EMP team: choose a
team leader and choose a
name for your team.
2. Submit your team information by completing EMP Registration spreadsheet for your team & send via e-mail to gbryson@batafilms.com by November 30th, 2009. Once enrolled in the program, Advisors will receive their chapter account number, team promotion code and account number for associate members to participate in this project.
3. Place your order for any one of the December screens nationwide regardless of the location of your chapter.

Project Timeline theatrical release of "THE STRIP"
Stage One:
Participants must develop their Entertainment Marketing Plan that will:
- Phase 1: promote and sell theater tickets for initial screens selected to premiere The Strip in December 2009
- Phase 2: create a high demand for additional screens and theaters for the theatrical release of the Strip in your local market
Your marketing plan must be 1 to 2 pages and include your social networking media and outdoor promotion strategies. (Stage One accounts for 20% of your competition score)
Stage Two:
Execute Your Plan and Track Results. In this step, participants will execute their marketing plan.
- Phase 1: From November 1st, 2009 to December 1st, 2009
- Phase 2: From November 1st, 2009 to December 3oth, 2009
(Stage Two accounts for 70% of your competition score)
Stage Three:
Submit your Entertainment Marketing Plan Evaluation & Recommendation due March 1st, 2010. Participants must submit 3 to 5 pages, which include:
- Your marketing plan for the project (Stage one)
- An evaluation of your Entertainment Marketing project results (Stage two A summary of what you learned in your project execution
- Your recommendations for how to approach next year's Entertainment Marketing Project
(Stage Three accounts for 10% of your competition score)
About the Strip and Audience Reaction
Synopsis:
The employees of a low end electronic store find creative ways to stave off boredom and their impending adulthood. But when one of them gets married they all must face the realities of growing up. (source IMDB)

The Strip scored 30% to 36% "excellent", 50 to 54% "very good" & 14% "fair" in several invited test screenings covering all demographic and geographical regions of the country. This film has been described by students as
"very funny and I will see it again," "engaging," "emotional," "hilarious, great message," "9 out of 10!" "want sequel". The survey document was created by focus group made up of DECA Students from the Milford chapter, Cincinnati Ohio. 82% of DECA /DELTA students who have watched the movie showed interest in selling theater tickets and DVD's of the Strip. A large percentage showed interest in working with bataFILMS internship program for Entertainment marketing.
Our sample size covered 1500 viewers in a wide range of audiences across America. A typical sample size for test screening in this industry is 400 people.

The Entertainment Marketing Project is based on bata FILM's first full-length feature comedy, "The Strip", opening in select theaters in December 2009. "The Strip" is a PG-13, character driven comedy dissecting the lives of five employees of a low-end electronics chain called Electri-City. The employees find creative ways to stave off boredom and their impending adulthood.
